Youth
A native of Brookline, Massachusetts, not far from the Boston city line, I can truly say that I was raised on transit. I remember singing the famed folks song, “Charlie on the MTA,” as my family hopped one of the two trolley lines that passed close by our house. As I grew older, Boston’s transit system was my ticket to freedom. My friends and I spent many weekends traveling to Boston on the Green Line or to Harvard Square on the Red Line.
